Story
Najeeb (Prithviraj Sukumaran) together with his partner Hakeem (KR Gokul) is flown to Saudi Arabia for work. They don’t speak Hindi or English and look confused at the airport. As they wait for their host, Khafeel (Talib Al Balushi) recognizes that it’s very easy for them to bribe Najeeb as well as Hakeem. Khafeel is able to take his two friends along. The idea of attempting a film like The Goat Life is very uncertain, but the renowned Malayalam character didn’t show any hesitations. Prithviraj has poured his sweat, blood and tears in the film, and it’s hard not to be enthralled with his amazing performance. He brought life to Najeeb’s character perfectly and displayed the helplessness of his character astonishingly. The variety of makeovers Prithviraj has gone through for the film The Goat Life is stunning.
A majority of the film is set in the desert The team has put in a tremendous effort that merits special recognition. The desert imagery as well as the background score propel it forward.
The Sandstorm sequence, which is at an important juncture is presented well. In comparison, the second half is slightly better than first one. Jimmy Jean-Louis, as well KR Gokul are quite good in supporting roles.
