Story
The story is set in the seventeenth Century, Malabar, Thevan (Arjun Ashokan) as a court musician and his companion Koran (Manikandan Thevan), a court singer, and his friend Koran (Manikandan. Archery) escape from slavery trade. They attempt to cross the river however, Koran is murdered by the female spirits Yakshi (Amalda Liz). For his own safety, Thevan enters a mansion that has been owned by Kudumon Potti (Mammootty).
Sidharth Bharatan is Kodumon Potti’s cook. Kodumon Potti informs Thevan that Thevan could remain inside the mansion. Then, slowly, Thevan starts sensing that something is not right with the house and Kodumon Potti. What’s it? What happened? Thevan escape from the mansion? What’s so mysterious regarding Kodumon Potti? This is exactly what Bramayugam is all about.

With all these talented people in the movie, it’s no wonder Varshal is going to be a big success. The cast delivers solid performances, with standing out in their roles.

Bramayugam is an innovative attempt and we congratulate Mammootty for attempting something like this and continually expanding the boundaries. The story is based on three characters and typically takes place in a single mansion. The performances and technical aspects have to be excellent for such an action film. Bramayugam does a great job in these regards.
Mammootty performed an award-winning performance in the role of Kudomon Potti. The close-ups along with his nuanced portrayal as well as an enthralling dialogue flow enhance the impact to an incredible extent. Instead of relying solely on jumpscares and clichés, Bramayugam creates an eerie impression through the decay of a mansion, Mammootty’s intriguing character and the black-and white format.
Arjun Ashokan and Siddharth Bhharatan are both amazing in their roles. We are enthralled by Arjun Ashokan’s character, and we are on his part. His facial expressions as well as body language are fantastic. There’s a crucial sequence that sees two of the main characters are stuck.
